The Manatt Ready Mix facility in Ames opened in March of 1994.  It's hard to believe it has been over 8 years since this plant opened for business.  Many yards of concrete have been batched thru the plant since that cool March day.  I don't have the exact numbers, but over 1/2 million cy of concrete have gone thru this Con E Co plant.  Little exterior maintenance has been required till now as the pictures will illustrate.  The existing storage tanks for cement and fly ash were brought over from the "old" plant and painted by Steve Vanevel from Victor.  Today we have Stan Anderson on our man lift hand rolling both tanks.  We changed the color from gray to a brown to match the building.  Stan has been working on this daily for more than a week now and can see the end in sight.  Considering the hot weather we've been experiencing,  it hasn't been fun on top of the plant, but he stuck with it and has done a good job.  You are all welcome to come and visit our facility any time.  Make sure you tell Stan what a great job he's done!
