As another construction season fast approaches, the
rush will be on to get as much equipment ready as possible for what
appears to be the start of a busy season. The equipment shop, truck
shop, tire shop, readymix shop, paint and body, sand blasting, weld
& fabrication shop, along with the wash rack, have all been very
busy getting things done. We give the people in those shops a big
THANK YOU for all their hard work.
As some of you already know, this year was our first
attempt at Centralized Purchasing. Centralized Purchasing was set up
to get the best deals possible for all related companies on
equipment purchases. The committee members included Tom Manatt
(Manatts Ames), Tim Manatt (Manatts North), Denny Their (Bard
Concrete), Hollis Emerson (Wendling Quarries), Tony Manatt (Wendling
Quarries), Chuck Finnegan (L.L. Pelling), Dave Beachy, (L.L. Pelling),
Gerry Gaffey (L.L. Pelling), Larry Potts (United Concrete), Milt
Dakovich (Aspro), Chris Dinsdale (Basic Material) and me. Though a
lot of hours and hard work went into some of the combined purchases
for the companies, we still have some end roads to meet. Again,
THANK YOU to all committee members and those who helped with getting
equipment proposals together.

Manatts Inc. works very hard to keep quality
purchases rotated into our truck and equipment line on a regular
basis. The only way we can preserve this tradition is with your
help. Let’s keep our equipment fine-tuned and out of harm’s way.
Please have a safe season, both for the sake of your family and
ours.
