It’s hard to believe that upon the printing of this edition of the Manatts Mirror, I’ll have been here for one year. During that time, I’ve met and worked with a lot of different people, who have assisted me in learning what Manatts, Inc., its subsidiaries and people are all about.  I know with the cooperation that I received this year, I’ve got a solid basis to build on for the future.  This first year has come and gone so quickly.  It’s left me little time to reflect on the past year due to the task that I must ultimately achieve – take over for JC Miller.

To follow in the shoes of a man who has been the financial pillar for this organization over the last twenty years is a bit daunting- even intimidating.  This is due to the fact that when I was hired, JC informed me that I have 3 ½ years to grasp and understand the financial intimacies before his retirement.

In closing, I look forward to the challenges to come and the bumps, tosses and turns associated with them.  The main reason being is the people.  Where can a person go to work and be “attacked” (in a humorous way) so many times and want to go back day after day?  Manatts, a place where people work hard, play hard and do it safer than anyone else!
