With warmer weather approaching, we have one thought
in the IT/MIS department: Hurry up! It has been another busy winter
overhauling computers, servers, and in a few cases entire networks.
Lately I’ve been out of Brooklyn more than I’ve been in!
We were able to complete server upgrades in Johnston
and Ames by the middle of January. There are still a few loose ends
to tie up in Ames, but we’ll get them done in the very near future.
Johnston’s office expansion looks to be a project shaping on my
plate for this spring. I’ve been waist deep over at Pelling’s for
several weeks as well. CMT will have a network going in with some
new machinery before March is over.
Did I mention we’ve been busy?
Jamie and Candace are getting the proverbial ball
rolling with the Pelling accounting system conversion. For those
that don’t know, Pelling is going to come online with Viewpoint.
They’ll be going live in 2005 so the timetable is going to be
tight. They’ve both done a great job getting our system at Manatts
tweaked and running smoothly. I’m sure the folks over at Pelling
will be very happy with the performance of their system by next
spring.
John Beaderstadt has been the glue holding the
Brooklyn office together lately! If you received a new computer
this winter it probably came from his desk. I did a few, but he’s
had no less than 30 on his bench since early December…in addition to
his other daily duties. He would be the first to tell you how much
he’s learned in the past year, but I’ll say it as well. John is
doing a great job with our systems!
I can’t wait to see everybody this spring as the
crews get fired up again. Stop up and say hello when you’re in
Brooklyn. As always, call if there’s anything we can do.
