We
have been very busy since the season began. Keeping up with
aggregate testing, bagging material for numerous mix designs,
and doing several mix designs ourselves for Illowa and Determann’s,
which we hired to do the QMA testing this year again.
Kenny has been tied up at Cedar Rapids South this season running samples. Mother nature put a kink in our quarry there making it more of a challenge to produce material. We supplied stone to Pelling for Hwy 30, Cedar Rapids airport, and numerous other jobs so far this year. Manatts has been working at Cedar Rapids airport and a project in Jackson County for P.C. Fred Carlson Company sat in our Iron Hill quarry to do a county overlay ACC job in May. Determann is sitting in our Behr quarry. We started in June on Camanche Avenue in Clinton then worked on two county projects on the west end of Clinton county in early July. Illowa also started the Hwy 38 Park Avenue job in early July. That kept us busy with HMA testing. I have to thank Al Heintz for sending Sally Slaven this way for a week to cover for a vacation (won’t mention who’s vacation). Thank you Sally! Manatts was at Garrison for a Benton County ACC overlay project and Mathy’s is in our Bowser Quarry for the Hwy 151 ACC overlay project. I will have more about our projects in the next Manatt Mirror.
