Well another year has come and gone already.   There has been a lot of activity at WQI this year in a lot of different departments.  We did do quite a bit of custom crushing this year as well as blasthole drilling, exploratory drilling, and quality control services.  Production was within 4% of what was estimated October of 2003.  That number is only achievable when there is a great team in the field doing what all of you do best.  That team work does not stop in the field of production, it continues on to the team that prepares our sites, moves the equipment, rebuilds and builds the equipment, the new team that keeps us working safe, and to the team that invoices and pays the bills and better yet pays the whole team for their efforts.

I can’t think of a better group of people than what Wendling has, to make this all happen on a just in time service.  Whenever you think that progress is not being made, all most any of us need to do is think back 5years, 10 years, or 15 years.  The evolution that has changed in this amount of time, for me, is almost unimaginable.  But it has happened. And more evolution will be experienced again in some much needed equipment.  Not only updated in years, but in size, and style.  There is a big world to explore in crushing and now that we have updated some of our trucks, loaders, gensets, etc. its time to seek out the more efficient crushing and screening plants and methods.

A couple of years ago we really focused hard at changing our culture from production, then quality, then safety, to SAFETY=QUALITY=PRODUCTION!  I truly think we did move in that direction and we need to continue the momentum.  We have two new people running our safety department.  Respect the job they are doing for you.  They are in the field visiting for your benefit.

Have a safe Holiday season this year and a safe year next year.   Remember quality and production will follow the path of safety.  Thanks to everyone for their help this past year.
