2004 has gone by fast for me and has been a year of
events. Most of the year has involved adjusting to my
being retired. At the rate we are adjusting, however,
2005 may also be a year of adjustment --- then we will
surely have it achieved.
Our time is divided: 1. Keeping up with the home
chores; we have to do. 2. Enjoying spending time with
our four children, eight grandchildren, and now a great
grandchild; we love to do. And 3. Taking vacation,
visiting friends & relatives, golfing, attending races,
going to movies, having time to read or watch that
special on TV, and sneaking a nap; now we have time to
do. We feel fortunate to enjoy all of these things.
2004 marked an ending for our family. Gene’s mom,
Lucille, passed away several weeks prior to her 92nd
birthday. We celebrated her life September 22nd.
We are not planning a winter vacation this year as
I am recovering from October 26th rotator
cuff surgery to my right shoulder. Currently I am
attending therapy 3 times a week and will continue
therapy for several more months. Moving my arm is slow
going. My goal is to be able to golf next spring.
Hopefully we won’t all gain weight with all of the
Xmas Goodies. I have been going to Weight Watchers since
coming home from Texas last spring. Lost approximately
20 lbs but having an h--- of a time keeping it off. See
you at the food trough.
As we look forward to 2005, I extend my wishes to
you and yours for a “Prosperous, Healthy and Happy New
Year”. |
