It sure has been a roller coaster ride this past
season for the ready-mix division. The spring started
off with a flurry of activity until the rains set in
slowing down progress. Things finally got rolling again
with decent work till the end of October into November
when the rain set in again. We were hoping to finish
our fiscal year (November) with a big month but the
first couple weeks put a slow down to that. Now, in
December, the weather hasn’t been “great”, but it has
been good enough with warmer temperatures and no snow
for us to get a lot more concrete poured.
Another up and down of the roller coaster ride was
our supply of cement. It seemed to be nip and tuck for
a while in the heat of the summer construction, but we
seemed to have made it thru without compromising any
customer service. Hopefully our cement producers will
have these supply issues taken care of by spring!
2005 is looking like it could be a good year.
Several things are in the works that we will be working
hard on to assure we will be the ready mix supplier.
Several school additions, new schools, college projects,
hotel and casino expansions, just to name a few.
Now I’d like to take the time to give my
deepest appreciation to all of our employees in the
ready mix division, your hard work and dedication means
so much! May all of you and your families have a great
holiday season and be blessed in the upcoming 2005! |
