I
have worked with Russ for 35 years. He’s been a
wonderful boss/co-worker to work with. He never asked a
person to do anything that he would not help you with or
do himself. We’ve had so many good times and funny
“incidents” that I hardly know where to start.
One that comes to the top of the list and we still
laugh about is “The Arm in the Auger in the Cement Bin”
story. The auger did not work for some reason. Luckily,
we turned off the electricity before we started in.
There was a hole in the side of the auger, so I reached
up as far as I could and found a big cement chunk
clogging things up. The tough part came when I tried to
get my arm out. No Luck! We tried everything but it
wasn’t going to budge. Russ finally decided we had to
have help. All of a sudden, the police, the fire
department, and lots of other people showed up to help
us. The cop was the Barney Fife type, ONLY FAT! They
finally had to cut a hole in the other side of the
auger and Poooooof!!!!. Down came the cement chunk and
a cloud of cement behind it. “Barney Fife” was covered
from head to toe!!!!
I want to wish Russ a happy retirement and KEEP IN
TOUCH!
