Pictures of the Slip Form Silo at the Fairbank Ethanol Plant.  Concreted was supplied by the Oelwein plant and is poured round the clock until completed. As the concrete sets, the form is “slipped” upward and fresh concrete is poured on top, much like a soft serve ice cream cone is formed.  From start to finish, the process on this silo took approximately 5 days.
