We
are at the end of another construction season for the
portable asphalt. Since Labor Day the portable crew has
been back in the Newton area.
The portable crew and the commercial crew have been
working together on various projects.
Our commercial plant that we currently are moving back
to Malcom produced the asphalt for a Jasper County
project and the project on Hwy 14 from Newton to Monroe.
When the portable crew finished in Audubon County at the
end of August, the portable asphalt plant was brought
back and set up at Kellogg. It hasn’t produced much mix
since it was brought back to the home area. Now it is
the only plant with any mix to produce.
Both crews are working hard to try and finish the
parking lot for the new Wal-Mart Super Center in
Grinnell. This is the last project that we have to
finish this fall.
The Newton racetrack will get a little rock put on yet
this fall and the bulk of our work at the track will be
done next year.
In
total this year we produced 282,000 Tons of hot mix out
of our 3 asphalt plants. Newton did 52,900 Tons,
Kellogg did 167,700 Tons and the plant at Reasnor did
61,500 Tons.
Everyone have a safe winter and a happy holiday season.
We
will see you back in the spring. |
