On November 3rd,
Manatts, Inc. was honored to win 4 awards at a
special luncheon held in Ames, during the Better
Concrete Conference. Each year, the Iowa Ready
Mix Association honors projects supplied by
producer members. Projects are nominated in 13
different categories.
The first award received was for the I-235
Pedestrian Bridges at 40th
and 44th
Streets. It qualified in the “Public Works
Structures” category. These new arched walkways
over I 235 are great improvements in eye appeal
over the structures they replaced. |

The third award was in the “Commercial
Above-Grade Buildings” category. The Prairie
Lakes Church in Cedar Falls qualified for this
award because of its insulated concrete form
construction. Over 52,000 square feet and up
to 36 foot tall sidewalls makes this church, at
the time of its completion, the largest
insulated concrete form building in the state. |

category. Mr. and Mrs. Buckley remodeled their
home and created a beautiful backyard with a
pool, outside cooking area, hot tub, elevated
decorative concrete deck, and a decorative pool
deck.
All four of the winners are the results of great
cooperation between owners, designers,
