On September 27th, 80+ golfers braved the elements to participate in the Wendling Quarries 2003 Golf Outing, held this year at Wapsi Oaks Country Club in Calamus, Iowa.

The temperatures were in the low 50’s with a very brisk and bone chilling wind!  Despite the weather conditions, there were some very good scores this year.  This year’s winning score was a 1 under par (34) shot by Nicole and Wendell Wuestenberg.  Right behind them shooting even par (35’s) were the teams of Brad & Mike Wendell and Brad Wise and Rick Reichert.

The Hole Prize winners were:

• Shortest Drive for Women:  Kristy Morrow

• Men’s Longest Putt:  Mike Wendell

• Men’s Closest to the Pin:  Brad Wise

• Men’s Longest Drive:  Travis Galloway

• Women’s Longest Putt: Jodi Shields

• Women’s Longest Drive: Angie Rickels

• Women’s Closest to the Pin: Carmen Rohwer

• Most Fun!!!!???? Lance Zerbe and Jennie Boxa

• Men’s Shortest Drive:  Brian Billick (wasn’t he last year’s longest drive winner????)

The Grand Prize Drawing Winners Were:

• Joyce Paulsen – Women’s Golf Bag

• David Schau – Men’s Golf Bag

• Gary Bruchscheen – 20” Color TV

A special thanks goes out to Ron Paulsen and Hollis Emerson for all of their help in acquiring our prizes!   I would also like to thank Wapsi Oaks Country Club for allowing us to have our “Outing” on their course and Tony Manatt for allowing us to have this event every year.
