Well here we are at the end of  another season. All but one of the mills have been put bed for the winter, and Brian and his crew are hoping to be finished soon!

Here we are again at the end of another construction season. I think we have made huge strides in our safety program and we have no one to thank but ourselves for that.

The last few weeks, I have been reviewing our parts purchases for

the company and thought I might share some of this information with you.  It just reminds me how much we have grown in the 15 years that I have been with Manatts.

We currently have 13,392 part numbers on the shelf in Brooklyn totaling $772,420.81 in inventory. Back in 1988 I think this number was around $350,000 in total inventory.

The volume of parts that was used is also interesting, I took just a few of our faster moving parts to use as examples. These numbers are for Manatts as a whole, not just the Brooklyn location.

Manatts mechanics installed a little over 7500 filters and used 31,680 gallons of oil. We made 14,858 ft. of hydraulic hoses, that is almost 3 miles of hose !

One interesting number that did jump out at me was brakes.  This year we installed 298 sets of brakes on our trucks.  Last year the number was 374 and the year before that was 378.  This tells me that our brake life is increasing, therefore saving us money.
