A notice dated April 1, 2006 was sent out to the
“guys” with desks in the DeWitt office asking of
each if they would like to participate in a
G.O.L.F. outing in DeWitt on Saturday May 6,
2006. In this case G.O.L.F. was an acronym for
Getting Organized, Looking Fine. Was the notice
just an April Fools joke (dropping a hint to
organize) or a real request for all to
participate? |

From my own experience, I was getting a little
frustrated looking for the one document or work
paper I needed amongst the stacks of papers on
my desk, hidden in a closet, or “filed” on the
floor. Looking around the office I could sense
others might be in the same situation. We are
talking here about years of accumulated
correspondence, etc, that just keeps stacking
up, most of which should have long ago gone to
the recycle bin. Day to day, everyone is busy
and it is difficult to tackle a project like
this during normal business hours.

The invitation was sent out and all the
foursomes were filled, with only Tony being a
little late for his tee time. Notice in a
picture below the “plush putting green look” of
the carpet that you can now get to in Tony’s
office after the stacks of paper on his floor
were elsewise organized.
There is a toss up as to who should get the
reward for “Most Improved” office look. Marc
Whitman unveiled family pictures and

even got a clock hung on a wall; Steve Yerington may have
recycled and reorganized more paper than anyone;
and John Kulper being with us for less than two
years, cleaned up the most on a prorated years
of service basis.
The previously mentioned group provided the best
before and after pictures, but all others made
their impact as well. Thanks to Terry Nichols,
Wendell Wuestenberg, Brian Billick, John Tuthill,
Matt Petersen and Hollis Emerson for
participating. Special recognition goes to
Carmen Billick for getting Tony started on his
office organization.
For now anyway, looking at offices, it appears
everyone is organized and under control! ….. or
will we need to schedule another G.O.L.F. outing
in 2007?
