Employee Spotlight:  Pam Benishek

After pondering over the content of an article for the upcoming Mirror, I
started wondering about how little
we really know of the ladies we
speak with on the phone when
contacting the offices.

Just about everyone has spoken with
one or two over the duration of each
season. But, how much do you really
know about them other than this one
handles payables and that one handles claims and so on and so on.

Did you know that Pam Benishek, who takes care of every accounting whim that you may have, also has two teenage daughters who, between the two of them, keep her busy through almost every sporting season of the school year.

Did you know that she also has been bestowed with one of the best sense of humors I have every encountered. (Maybe that is the product of having two teenage daughters!)

I bet you didn’t know that she has been employed here for twenty-seven years this month, longer than any other female employee with the exception of our very own co-editor, Bev Veverka.

Pam started out working for her father, Bernard Kriegel, in the field on the sealcoat crew and then moved into the office to do concrete receivables and then payroll. She has come a long way in her career at Manatts. Even though she is still in accounting, she is now the supervisor and has everyone reporting to her. Such power!!! (She’ll get a laugh out of that.)

I am not sure of Pam’s hobbies, but since her home is close to where I live, I think surely one of them has to be yard work and gardening. Either that or she punishes herself extensively through the nice weather, as a neater landscape you will not find.

When asked of her co-workers for words to describe Pam, the ones most apparent in their responses were friendly, funny, dedicated, hard-working, kind and happy.

We salute you, Pam, for the time and effort you put into your work and the helpfulness with which you do it.
