Did you know that you can re-allocate your 401(K) funds online? Let’s get started! First, you must have a 6-digit PIN # issued to you by Wells Fargo. If you were hired after June of 2001 or if you filled out papers to participate in the 401(K) after June 2001, your PIN # is your 6-digit birth date. If you have lost your PIN # and need a new one all you have to do is dial 1-800-258-2715. They will ask you to enter your Social Security Number and a 6-digit PIN # of your choice. After that, listen carefully and they will walk you right thru it. It takes about one minute. A new PIN # will be sent to your home of records in 2 to 3 working days. “Home of records” is the address you gave when you set up your account. If you have had a change of address since your account was set up, remember to give them your new address. Once you have your PIN #, there are two methods you can use to change your allocation of funds. The first is by phone. If you wish to use this method, please call me (Frank), at the Brooklyn office (641-522-9206), and I will send you the instructions. The second is the highlight of this article - online! Wells Fargo’s Internet address is: http://retirementplan.wellsfargo.com The first time in, they will ask you for your Social Security Number and your PIN #. Once you are in, they will ask you to set up a new username and password. Please write this down as you will need these to access your account in the future. They will also ask you to answer a few simple questions. If you are having problems and you need some help, simply dial the HELP LINE at 1-800-258-2715. They will ask for your Social Security Number and your 6-digit PIN #. NEVER throw away your 6-digit PIN #. You must have it to get help from a HELP LINE operator. If you need further assistance, you may call Frank at the Brooklyn Office. |
