The crews have been very busy this
season. They started off the year working on I-80 in
Jasper and Poweshiek County. I am happy to report that
they were able to construct the first phase of this job
without any major accidents. They will be back to
finish this project after Labor Day.
Since the I-80 project they went up to
Hwy. 175 to widen and resurface the road from Ellsworth
to Hubbard. While in the area, they also resurfaced a
county road in Hardin County from Buckeye to Alden.
The crew has just finished moving the
plant out to do a job in Calhoun County. This job has
crack and seat, cold in place and overlay work. It
consists of 73,000 Ton of Hot mix.
The work that we have for the season
should have been manageable to finish while working with
a steady pace. Mother nature hasn’t allowed us to do
that with all of the rain causing delays. Everybody has
been putting in long hard days and working a lot of
Saturdays. I am very pleased with the efforts of
everyone. Curt, Jeff and Don at the plant have kept it
running great.
Steve, Denny, Jeff, Tracy, Bill, Matt,
Pro, Robert, Jeremy, Dick, Brent and Ramon have done a
great job of keeping the equipment running and getting
the mix placed. Forgive me if I left any one’s name
out.
The truck drivers are getting the mix
hauled and our flaggers are a reliable group.
Jeff, LD and Brad are taking care of the
lab work required between the plants.
I just can’t say enough about this group
of guys and gals of how well they are all pulling
together to get done what we need to do.
Thanks to everyone and keep up the good
work. |
