On May 7, John Tuthill, took Pastor Barb Keiper
and the 2006 Confirmation Class from Peace
Church, Bennett, Iowa, to Lowden Quarry (our Mt.
Sinai for the purposes of this story.) The kids
toured the site, got a lesson in geology,
hydrology, safety and collected flagstones. The
conformation class will be using the stones to
make replicas of the Ten Commandments and study
bible lessons about Moses. The kids were all
from the Bennett area and Pastor Barb lives a
couple miles north of Highway 30, west of Cedar
Rapids, where she helps her husband Don, farm. |
