I would like to say thank you to everyone for
all that was done for Austin and our family
while he was sick and since he’s passed away.
The acts of kindness that were shown to all of
us during this have been unbelievable. The
cards, emails, phone calls, fundraisers, gifts
and most importantly the prayers and visits
while he was sick were truly appreciated. Many
times he was surprised by how much people were
doing. He knew a caring circle of family and
friends along with an entire community,
including our Manatt “family” surrounded him.
Jason Spooner, Laura Manatt, Jo-Ann Manatt, and
anyone else who played a part in getting him the
ride and pictures with Rusty at Iowa Speedway –
THANK YOU!! Although he would’ve liked to been
driving, he had a great time riding and talked
about it a lot, even admitting it scared him a
little!
He’s probably just as astounded by the
expressions of sympathy that have been shown to
our family since he’s been gone. We are
sincerely grateful for the cards, food, flowers,
memorials, along with the tears and hugs. A
special thank you to these Manatt employees:
Dan Boyer, Susan Kriegel-Lint, Frank Heinen, Bev

as much as
I could. It meant a lot to all of us and we, as
a family, will always remember everything
everyone has done. If I’ve forgotten anyone,
please know it was unintentional and I sincerely
appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Austin was a great kid with a warm smile and an
unforgettable personality. He will be truly
missed. We don’t know when but we will all be
together again someday. In the meantime, we
have a very special guardian angel. While it’s
hard to understand why God chose to take him
from us so early, maybe it’s like Jodi Messina’s
song says, “Heaven was needing a hero.”
We love you all and keep praying.
