Corporate planning is high on the agenda these
days for the owners, directors and managers of
Manatts, Inc. The four items that have rung true
from the very first year of the corporate
retreat are to develop corporation direction,
collaborate for best practices, open lines of
communication with all Manatt companies and
promote socialization among owners, directors,
and all managers involved. To broaden one’s
outlook on our immediate business world and
management skills through communication and
shared life experiences has proven to work
through these retreat settings. The consensus
of the group on a whole is that the value of
this gathering is worth the time and commitment
it takes for its success. This retreat, along
with the educating and experience building of
the third generation of Manatt family to enter
the business, is proof of the commitment this
company’s leaders have to its employees,
business partners and the construction industry
of which it is a large part.
This past winter our retreat destination brought
“whoops and hollers” from the majority of
attendees. Excitement was the name of the game
and Baja racing was on the agenda. Most came
away from the experience with more than a few
stories to tell, especially JC Miller, who
talked about it for weeks after returning home.
You could probably ask him about it now, almost
six months later, and he would be more than
willing to oblige with a narration. The
pictures included with this article are witness
to the type of terrain that had to be crossed
with a racing engine under the hood of each of
the vehicles driven. And even after Baja had
its coldest days in years with snow in the
higher
and
lower elevations (Day 3 of the trip), there were
not many complaints from the group. Not even
attending meetings, no electricity after 10:00
PM, or the cold could bring forth a negative
response when asked if they would return in the
future. All that were asked responded with a
very enthusiastic “YES”. If you ever want for
an exciting adventure, Wide Open Baja in
Ensenada, Baja California will show you just
that. |
