For all of you who know Ginny, you know that we are going
to miss her. She is
leaving at the end of September to return to Grand Island,
Nebraska to be near her two daughters and her three grandsons.
While
we certainly hate to see her leave, we can understand the need
and desire to be closer to her family.
She has been with us for over 13 years and it will seem
like a piece of us has disappeared. (Read Ginny's Farewell Here)
We are currently conducting a candidate search to find a
replacement to fill Ginny’s position.
Candace Griffith and Jamie Kriegel will be learning the
basic BidTek commands to keep the system up and running in the
mean time. Nate
Hopwood will take over maintenance and upkeep of the many
databases Ginny has built for the company.
Jamie Kriegel will also be taking over the many
PowerPoint presentations that Ginny created on a monthly basis.
Hopefully we’ll find a suitable candidate soon to take
over the tedious art of programming, a talent that Ginny excels
in!
Ginny, we will all miss you and hope you stop back
whenever you come through here.
There will always be a cup of coffee ready for you!
No
Goodbyes
Ginny Olson
As I have stated in some of my e-mails to my fellow
co-workers, I will not say goodbye.
Friends are forever and I consider each and every one of
my fellow workers over the past 13+ years as very good friends.
You will always remain in my heart.
I
have learned so much from each of you.
Hopefully, I have conveyed some of my knowledge to each
of you in a special way.
In this wonderful world of automation sometimes it is so
easy to forget we are still conversing with human beings.
Hopefully, I have not lost this ability.
I want to continue to be able to make computer users
comfortable and knowledgeable.
Fortunately, I basically grew up with computers.
I have been in this profession since 1968 as data entry,
operator, programmer and manager.
I sincerely believe doing all of these jobs has given me
a greater understanding of the different facets of technology.
My hope is to convey this understanding to the end-user.
Yes, I am moving back to HuskerLand!
My antenna for wireless internet connection is on top of
a “grain bin”, go figure.
My girls and grandsons are very excited that Grandma from
Iowa is moving home.
So, boys get the roller blades & go-carts out,
Grandma is ready.
Golly, I’ll have to get into the practice of making
tents out of old sheets by tying them to tables and chairs!
If I come up with any good ghost stories while we’re in
our tents, I’ll e-mail them to you!
So, before I write a book, I want to especially thank the
Manatt family and JC Miller for the opportunity to spend the
last 13 years here.
Honestly, you will never know how much it has meant to
me.
Kevin, Jamie, and Nate what can I say, but we made one
heck of a good team.
Now that Mother will no longer be here, NO goofing off,
he-he-he!
To all my other friends, THANK YOU.
So, unless the grain bin falls over and I lose my signal,
I’ll be in contact with you all.
Ginny
