Record Day on V18
Click here for more on this story . . .
We
are heading down the home stretch and finally got some work.
It should be a very busy next two months.
Mike
V and crew are in Ames on South Dakota. They also have a
county paving job with Story County and, if things go right,
they should be done in Ames around the middle of October.
Duane, Ponch and crew have a lot of traveling this next
month. They should
finish the Keokuk County job this week.
Today Duane, Jeremy and crew are placing flyash for the
Chariton Airport with Kurt Kelley and his Cat Stabilizer.
It should be ready to pave next week.
After that the crew will go back to Belle Plaine to do
the rest of the paving there and then to Monsanto to finish up
most of what is left to do there.
After that they are off to Hwy 330 west of Marshalltwon
to pave a stretch of the Hwy 30 for Moyna!
Hopefully, we still have time to head to Hardin County to
begin our 20-mile paving job.
Jim Shafer and crew will be very busy the next few weeks.
There is a high demand for trimmers.
This week they are in Iowa City to trim for Pelling.
They also need to trim all the previously mentioned jobs
and somehow do trimming in Jasper County for the Newton ACC boys
starting the middle of September.
It will be hectic, but I know they will get it all done.
Monte and crew have finished Webster City and should be
done in Belle Plaine this week, then on to Grinnell for a sewer
and water job for the city.
On Sept. 14th we hope to be the successful
bidder on a sewer job with the town of Brooklyn.
Monte’s crew also has a nice job in Polk County at the
rest area along I-80.
Brian and his crushing crew have been processing rock at
the Montour quarry. Over
the last two weeks they have been working for PCI on a job by
LeGrand on Hwy 30. Should
be finished this week and head to Dubuque to crush for Moyna,
who has 138,000 tons to make from a rock cut.
The crushing crew should be busy there until the snow
flies.
The boys have been busy estimating.
We have some work already for next year; Hardin County, a
job with Pelling on Mt. Vernon Road and a project w/PCI at the
Cedar Rapids Airport. Hopefully,
we will get more early work and have a lot better spring than
the last one.
Also, I would like to tip my hat and say “great job”
to Marvin and Steve and the portable crew for having a record
day with the Hetzel Plant on the Poweshiek County V-18 project.
Hopefully Marvin submitted an article on our record day.
Again, great job guys!
Let’s finish the year with a safe and productive rest
of the season. Remember,
no punch list and zero redos!
Everyone please keep up the good work.
