The pictures on the links below give a
graphical representation of the progress being made on this
project. Browse through the time-elapsed images and check
back often for updates.
The first series shows various
views of the location of the new road-bed. Grubbing took a
matter of days and our crews are currently hauling in
fill.
The second series is of the removal site behind
Manatts' Brooklyn office. By the time the project is
finished approximately 80,000 cubic yards of fill will have been
hauled across to the new road...that's about 10,000 dump truck
loads! Enjoy!
The third series shows the process of
pouring the bridge deck as the final stages of the south bridge
construction draws near. In these pictures you'll see how
the process of pouring concrete for a bridge is a bit different
from other pours. The mixer brings the concrete to the job
site where it is loaded into a bucket attached to a crane.
When the bucket is full, the crane lifts it to deck level where
it is placed and finished with a bridge deck finisher.
The fourth series shows the progress
on the north bridge. Here you'll seem them pouring
concrete on the bridge deck using a pump. You'll also
notice that the arm of the pump is remote controlled by an
operator on the bridge deck. Pay special attention to the
photo of the new bridge shadowed by the old bridge.
Advancements in technology is evident! The final pictures
show Manatt's, Inc. hard at work hauling more dirt for the
road-bed.
