Wendling
Quarries, Inc. (a Manatt's, Inc. Subsidiary) broke ground
on their new area sales office and scalehouse at their
Robins Quarry.
Robins Quarry is located in the town of Robins, which is just north of Cedar
Rapids. It serves Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, and Linn County with a
full compliment of limestone products. Their biggest customers are the
developers who are building homes and businesses in this fast growing
region.
This new building will provide a much needed new scalehouse for the
quarry, adjacent to a new 70' scale, combined with a new sales office for
the Cedar Rapids area. This will replace the office space we currently lease
from
LL Pelling's "J Street" facility.
From the
pictures included in the slideshow, you can see we have the basement
walls poured, and as soon as the below grade plumbing is completed, the
basement floor will be poured. Delaney & Kelly Construction
of Marion is doing the concrete work, United Building Centers of Walker is
doing the carpentry work, and ESCO Electric of Marion will wire it. We hope
to move in mid-June.
