IRMCA Outstanding Safety Awards

Manatt’s has been recognized by the Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) with the Outstanding Safety Award for its implementation of a Hydro Chipper, a significant advancement in drum cleanout procedures for Ready Mix operations. The innovation reflects a company-wide policy change that eliminated the requirement for employees to physically enter mixer drums to remove built-up concrete. By adopting the Hydro Chipper, Manatt’s has reduced employee exposure to serious physical hazards and significantly limited high exposure to crystalline silica dust, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to safer work environments.

In addition, three Manatt’s Ready Mix locations earned first-place honors in their respective safety classes, receiving plaques based on a comprehensive evaluation of permanently assigned mixer trucks, OSHA recordable injuries, mixer truck accidents resulting in damages over $2,000, and total driver hours. Traer earned top honors in Class A (0–2 trucks), Pella in Class B (3–4 trucks), and Ankeny in Class E (15 or more trucks). These recognitions highlight the consistent focus on operational discipline, accountability, and the daily efforts of Manatt’s teams to uphold the highest standards across all locations.
